»Christian Fischbacher – KaDeWe«

The name Christian Fischbacher stands for textiles of the highest quality and has long been a renowned and recognized brand. As part of the redesign of the traditional department store KaDeWe, Christian Fischbacher’s bed linen shop was also to be redesigned. The greatest challenge was that the tradition-steeped brand was to be expanded by a younger, fresher line, but that this new addition was to blend seamlessly with the existing elements.

Playing with opposites, especially when they complement each other perfectly, is the conceptual framework. The shop’s interior with its dark oak elements is completed with lighter modules for “CF”, the young line of bed linens. The almost night-black framework, evoking the calm quiet of bedrooms, is thus given a bright outlook. White-washed oak elements for the young line are juxtaposed with the dark elements of the traditional line. Both form a restrained backdrop for the textiles, which are convincing in and of themselves when placed in the spotlight. In keeping with the high-end appearance of its merchandise, the shop occupies enough space to present made-up beds. The linens are thus taken out of the shelves and placed within a realistic context. As is the customer herself – imagining the linens at home could not be easier. Sleep has never been so attractive.
