»LOFT – Walls of Light«

A loft holds one main challenge for the interior designer: a total creative block. A loft, after all, is like that empty white canvas staring at you from your easel. In this case, however, that canvas is blown up to 320 square metres. The loft’s main characteristic is the absence of spatial structure. Walls? Doors? Everything must be created through interior decoration. From the division of space and functions to that cosy feeling of being at home.

Contrasts provide stability, colours bring things down to earth, and minimalist furniture allows the real star to shine: the space itself. Through interior decoration, we have placed the loft’s architecture centre-stage. The furniture design is dominated by simple shapes, allowing the open ambiance of the space to make a strong impression. In order to lend the space structure and give the eye stability, strong dark contrasts to the white walls were introduced. The large window banks allow light to flood the space. Shining in, it gives the open space structure: the dark wood of the floor and the black frame of the balcony complete the bright loft optically. The colour concept is also inspired by this light. Subtle colours such as the grey of the bathroom create moments of calmness within this spectacle of light.
