LIW Design and Ayla Schilp took the idea that art should mirror reality seriously here. Individually printed cardboard modules, assembled correctly, form furniture, walls, even potted plants. Inspired by pop art, the modules create their own forms through an alignment of dots. Behind rigid lines, they stand in a row like soldiers. In the meantime, a difficult past is depicted on stage. For the inner life of the main protagonist, Mechthild, is the focus of the piece. However, amidst all that dark past, her hope for a better future keeps growing stronger. And the stage sets grow with it. Furniture modules which previously lived in black-and-white only now show their colourful verso. The sets gain in colour, gradually reflecting the growing of hope.
